Sad news - RIP Paul Bradley

Paul Bradley aka Herman
I first met Paul when Spud (Mike Murphy) and I were in Cardiff University with him studying Civil & Structural Engineering together. We became the 3 Amigo’s in college being pretty much the only Welshmen in a 90 odd student year. We graduated in 1978.
I kept in touch with Paul and we eventually worked together for CH Dobbie and Partners in 1981. Paul had been playing for Pontypridd and he tried to get me to play for them but I managed to persuade him to join to join the Illts in about 1982 I think. Much to the chagrin of Joe Smith the Cilfynydd coach who was desperate for Paul to join them.
Paul played through all of our Silver Ball and East District successes in the 1980’s and finished playing in 1990 because of a serious shoulder injury. He toured with us to Texas which was a highlight of his rugby career! He represented the East District during his time with us and loved every minute of being ‘An Illt’.
Paul was had a great sense of humour and was a genuinely ‘nice guy’ but he soon adopted Illtydian traits and became a piss taker par excellence. He was a loyal and dependable friend who just loved to laugh.
He will be sorely missed by all of us!
RIP Herman.

Paul will be buried on the 10/05.Service at Glyntaf crem then afterwards at Ponty RFC. Time 3pm

The thoughts of all Old Illtydians are with Debbie and all the family at this sad time
