Winger Dan Savager came off the bench to score his fourth try in two games as the Old Illtydians recorded their seventh consecutive win over a dogged Llandaff North side 25-6.
Savager’s brace added with scores from Captain Phil Morse and winger Ben McHardy kept up the Illts superb start to the season which has seen them pick up 34 points from a possible 35.
With Hailey Park deemed unplayable by the referee due to the continued downpours, the fixture was switched to Moorland Park with the visitors starting brightly with some strong carries by their forwards although this was met with some solid defence by the Illts.
Morse opened the scoring the day crossing after a strong driving maul from a lineout inside the Llandaff North 5m.
Some superb hands from No.8 Thomas Wheeler led to the Illts’ second shortly after with McHardy continuing his impressive start to the season in Green and Gold.
Llandaff North cut the deficit to four points with two quick fire penalties to leave the score at 10-6 at half time despite the Illts being relatively comfortable.
Savager continued his fine form by scoring his first shortly after half time and earned his side the bonus point in the final 10 minutes with two very tidy finishes.
Despite the awful conditions, this was an impressive performance from the Illts who were dominant up front and also looked dangerous when the ball went wide.
What was pleasing abput the win was the strength in depth the home side was able to use from the bench with Savager, Neil Dallimore and Josh Harris all impressing when taking the field.
A solid week of training is now required prior to the visit of third placed Aberdare to Moorland Park on Saturday.
